Star on Iran short 'Retouch' goes for series

Iran actress Sonia Sanjari starring in internationally noted short film ‘Retouch’ shoots for new series ‘87 Meters’.

The actress who played the role of Maryam in ‘Retouch’ arrived on the set of the new series by director Kianoush Ayari to shoot her scenes.

The series with a scheduled run of 40 episodes focuses on a dispute that rages between two families over property ownership. Things go out of hand when both families get to know their purchased house has another owner.

Besides the internationally celebrated actress who won several international awards for her appearance in ‘Retouch’, the new Iranian series enjoys a string of stars such as Ali Dehkordi and Mehran Rajabi.

Co-produced by Kaveh Mazaheri and the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ tells the story of a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes while she cannot do anything but to witness the unfolding of this tragic event.

'Retouch' has won top prizes from a number of international festivals, including the 4th Short Movie Club Film Festival in Belarus, the 9th session of Cinalfama Lisbon’s International Film Festival in Portugal, the 16th Audi Dublin International Film Festival in Ireland and the 14th TALCA International Short Film Festival in Chile.
